First in best dressed!

First, another order to send off tomorrow. I love the name Mikaeli! The photo doesn't show it very well but all the pearls are a slightly different colour, the center one being the darkest. I hope this is what you meant Jo! :)

Now for something different. I found this in an op shop and couldn't bare to leave it there, so I paid the princely sum of 10c and took it home. This is all done by hand!! Why would someone spend so many hours creating such loveliness and then give it to the oppy? So many teeny tiny stitches! I can't remember what you call it, anyone?

Anyway it has been rescued, but now it needs rescuing again. I don't have girls and really I can't think of any use I could put it to. I think it needs to go to someone who will treat it lovingly and make something brilliant out of it!

So the first person to say they want it, shall have it. Better be quick!! I would love to see what you make it into!

Jumping babies...

Finally my smallest is 3 months old and ready to become a Jolly Jumper!
He's not that fond of the actual jumping involved but loves standing and turning to look at whatever he wants :)

On the weekend we went to Bendigo to see my 2 cousins play football to get into the finals. Sadly both lost and wont be playing in the big one. But I went to see a movie for the first time since Noah was born- Inglorious Bastards. It was quite good I thought and I really enjoyed it (even though it was VERY violent). The storyline was well done and surprising, and the heavenly Brad Pitt was quite funny. Generally I don't like violence but it seemed in context in this movie. Some parts did make me catch my breath because of the realness of slit throats etc.

On the subject of Bendigo, I wanted to ask if many people who read this blog go there? I was thinking that I know of so many op shops there, some very well hidden. And if anyone was interested I was going to make a map with at least 10 oppys located all through Bendigo? So let me know if you think you'd like to use it.

I've also sent these off for a guy who likes boot camp (god knows why!):

They are sterling silver dog tags with dates stamped on them. There are no gaps in the dates because they are meant to look like serial numbers. What do you think?

And in regards to our 'unwanted visitor', my sister in law came over last night and politely asked it to leave. She burnt some sage and also had some incense. Since then I haven't felt anything, like a presence etc. I really hope it's gone and I don't have to lie awake all night worrying about what is happening in Aus's room. I still don't think I'll be able to stay home by myself for a while!

Hope your weekend was splendid!!

Big orders and grumpy kids:

Wow I've just completed the biggest order of jewelery I've ever had! Last night I made 4 bracelets, 2 necklaces and a pair of earrings. Needless to say I wasn't in bed until after 1am. But I had such fun making them one after another that I didn't care... until Noah woke me up about an hour later for a feed that is. Ah, sometimes I think I'm super woman and have that 'can do' attitude. And then it all comes crashing down at 2am when I fall asleep while feeding my baby. Oh well, he falls asleep too and we snore until morning. Still a good result- especially since he was weighed today and has put on 500gms in 2 weeks! Totally thriving the maternal health nurse tells me. He's even getting chubby cheeks :)

So here's so me of the stuff I've sent off today:

The last one everything packaged neatly ready to put in the envelope... or is it? I sent everything in this photo today but then realised I didn't have any photos of the earrings I'd made. Why not? Because I'd managed to hide them from myself so they didn't get packaged and sent. That's what happens when its 1am and you can barely open your eyes enough to see the end of your nose. Oh well off to the post office tomorrow I guess.

And just to finish off this little post I'll give you a glimpse at how Aus woke up after his nap this afternoon. Please note the 'what do you want, get away from me' expression. You'd never guess he's 2 would you!?

Ah... Sunday night

I can't believe it's already been a week since my last post. Time just flies by with a 2 yr old! I can't really say exactly what I've been doing- apart from washing clothes, cleaning etc...
But this weekend we went out to the forest to get our firewood for winter (with all the appropriate permits).

There were 4 men with chain saws and 4 women and a 2 yr old to load the trucks/trailers. Obviously I wasn't much help, but Aus did his best!

This is Hubby's handiwork... Love a tough man with a chain saw!

So now I think we're pretty set for winter, we'll be toasty in front of the fire :)

Tomorrow I'm off to the bank to beg, I mean apply for a loan extension for our renos. I really hope we can get it and do all the things I want to, including a new kitchen, new combustion heater, new walk in robe and big robes for the kids rooms. Also a new bathroom and Laundry and Study. Yikes, it sounds like a lot doesn't it?! But all that will be done without extending the floor area at all- our house is quite large already and just needed to be moved around internally a bit. I really can't wait. If you think I'm a bit mad for doing this with less than 2 months to go until our next baby is born, I agree. But we'll be moving to the holiday house on the lake while the renos are taking place and it's quite comfy out there so I'm not too worried.

Otherwise I've been keeping busy knocking up the winner's prizes from my giveaway. These babies are off to their new owners tomorrow. If you like them, there are plenty available in my shop, just click the link in the side bar :)

And soon I'll have another tutorial up on Favecrafts.com (I've been asked to do a guest piece)- I think it will be my lace flowers tutorial plus an added section on how to make them with fabric just laying around. I'll let you know when it's all go.

They end up quite pretty don't they?! Thanks for stopping by and I love getting comments and read every single one, so please leave yours :)

A Beautiful Weekend & shop update...

Hello all, hope you had a lovely Easter and are still munching happily on chockie!
We started the long weekend by going to the footy ground for a kick with my sister and her boyfriend. I took this photo below and then had to giggle. It looks like my sister is some type of goddess who can make water by simply holding out her hands :)

Hubby did his best AFL impersonations...

And my brother in law came out still smiling.... not so much hubby :)

We headed out the lake and were treated to a lovely show each night across the lake, when a deep orange moon would rise with a beautiful reflection.

And then it was time for the Easter egg hunt!

Uh, 2 years old need a little bit of help...

Where?

Of course, the wheelbarrow!!

The bucket from the last post came in very handy and fit more than a few eggs!!

Ahh... the best bit... yum!

Happy Easter Everyone!

I've also updated the Missie Krissie Shop with the new earrings from this post... pop in for a look!

Who said: Oh my gosh...love them. How did you dome it? I love the colors you choose. I hope I win, that would make my Friday. I am sooooo glad the nag board has worked for you. I hope it saves many-a-fights like ours has. Thanks for telling me about it. That pumps me up.

Congratulations guys! Please email me your address and details for what you would like on your jewellery. Thanks everyone for entering, feel free to stop by the shop- earrings will hopefully be there early next week.

You asked for it! EARRINGS! & Giveaways galore!!

Ok I bit the bullet so to speak- so many of you wanted earrings I decided to give it a go! 4 new designs...

1. A tear drop shape with design stamp, could have anything stamped on it.

2. A dapped disk with pearl and crystal sitting inside. Could have something stamped but I don't think you'd see it unless the crystals/pearls were above the disk.

3. A very small disk that could have anything stamped around it.

4. Another dapped disk with a design stamp. It could also have words around the edge.

Let me know what you think because I'm going to give away one pair on Friday as well as the necklace! Just comment on this post and the winner can chose which one they like best.

Earrings will be in the shop as soon as I get the parts from my suppliers, hopefully no later than early next week. Any other suggestions for a design you would like to see please let me know!

And here's another great giveaway...
Click on the pic below to head over to Don't Look Now to enter a fantastic giveaway. Have a look around while you're there and be totally stunned at all the beautiful things she makes! I'm thinking of buying the pattern for her boy's rocket pillow!

Time for a Giveaway!

I meant to blog about this on Friday but instead we went to watch Geelong beat the Hawks at the MCG. It was very satisfying :)

So here it is, another new design to give away to some lucky winner. It's all sterling and can have anything you like stamped on it. Also the colours of crystals or pearls are up to you. The necklace will be the same chain as the dangle.
How to win? Just leave a comment on this post. Tell me what you think of the new design and any ideas you may have for new designs in the future. I'll be drawing a winner on Friday night.

I was going to give away a stamped ring as well but when I received them from the supplier they were horrible quality. I refuse to sell or even give away jewellery of a lesser standard than a normal jeweller. So I'm on the hunt for new rings.

So this is what we did on the weekend:

Some herbs I got a few weeks ago needed new pots and some little fingers helped me do it. Well, he did one and then lost interest. But was happy to water them all after for me :)

Later this is all that was happening on a Sunday afternoon:

Hope you had a nice lazy one too!

Action packed weekend!! :)

Yet again this is going to be a big post. I really need to sit down more often to do this!!
Oh well, here we go...

On Friday night after work Aus and I drove to Melbourne to stay with my cousin and her husband. We stopped in Bendigo to visit my sister on the way and grab a nice dinner, cheers Annie! When we got there we were both tired after the long drive but so excited about the next day!!
Saturday was the Stitches and Craft Show! Oh me oh my!! Such fantastic people and things all gathered together in the same place! As you can tell I had a brilliant time! I actually met some bloggers in 'real life', just as lovely as I thought they would be- with such brilliant ideas and products!!
Also spent a little bit of dosh, but worth every cent:
Some of the fabrics I bought (I was really after boy fabrics but there were some great girly ones I just had to have)-
Then there was this mini iron that was calling my name. At first I resisted but I could still hear it from across the other side of the building and I let it draw me back to buy it! I've tested it out and am very impressed. It's so handy for my little jobs.

The pearls below were also bought at the show for the jewellery making, I really like the pinky colour.
The other things in the above picture are my purchases from the Bendigo Spotlight. It had been closed since the fires but re-opened on Monday- with 20% off EVERYTHING, even sale items. I actually stayed at my sister's on Sunday night instead of coming home, specifically so I could go to the sale. And I bought so much that the sales woman said she'd never seen a receipt that big before. Embarrassment. She then appologised to the lady behind me for it taking so long! Hmmm... maybe I should learn to minimise my purchasing from now on. But I got everything from pinking shears to ribbons to stamping inks to my new best friend- a bobbin side winder! There was so much more and it all cost me $100 so I thought it wasn't too bad.

Oh and I couldn't remember if I showed you how I store my pearls and crystals- I got this little test tube holder from the op shop for $1 and it's come in so handy. I can see all my colours really easily.

On Sunday we got up early to go with my cousin to their church because they were going to sing at the Templestowe Festival. They close down the whole street and have lots of stalls set up all the way down with all sorts of things. I bought the beautiful hand made apron and little booties there for my boys. If you've got kids, I reccommend you go and take a look next year, Aus had the time of his life. So many rides, even Thomas the Tank Engine (he nearly wet himself he was that excited!). There was also a petting zoo, with lots of animals... including a crocodile and snake! Aus loved it!

I also got in the mail these beautiful vintage fat Quarters from my swap with Casey. Thanks so much Casey I love them, especially the yellow and oranges!
Last but least, as promised... the belly. It looked ok in the first pic but then I thought I'd better be truthful and show what's really going on under that cardi! I'm a whale, pure and simple :)

That's enough for now, I'm off to actually make something with all my purchases!!! YAY! Hope your weekend was great too!

Ps. Rings are coming to the shop soon, I am waiting for a piece of equipment to come... I got the package for it on Friday, with nothing in it. It had apparently fallen out a small hole, so they're sending me another one. :)
