Cack

Please excuse the little blogger hiatus, for the last 2 days I have been this colour:

SONY DSC

And I can assure you I certainly wasn’t smiling.

The dreaded gastro completely levelled me and I still feel strangely weak in my arms and legs. Happily though, I seem to possess the super power of ‘keeping your germs to yourself’ because no one else has come down with it *yet*.

But I’m bouncing back quickly and ready to show you another little invention tomorrow!

Until then!

Deluged and Breached!!

This is happening at my house right now

lightening

After so many long years of drought I fear we need to do some water proofing around the home. I sat down to my jewellery this evening and all of a sudden it was raining on my face. That definitely should NOT happen indoors.

rain leaking inside

I’m pretty sure rain is meant to be on the OUTSIDE of the glass. We like to do things differently here :)

So I’ve done all I could do… put some towels and buckets down.

There were a few very loud cracks of thunder so I went in to see if Aus was ok in bed (Noah could sleep through anything). He was busy watching the lightening out his window and when asked if he was ok, he yelled ‘Whoa did you see that one Mum!? That was so cool!’ So I left him to his lightening watching.

Then the lights went out. Thank god it was only for about 10 seconds, then they came back on. But I went to check on him again and he said ‘I’m only a little bit scared Mum’. So I assured him that if the lights go out again I will come straight to him. My big brave boy. (who incidentally doesn’t wear nappies to bed anymore! Yay!)

I’m off to snuggle in my big warm bed, guess we’ll assess the damage in the morning!

Misery guts

Please excuse the lack of posts!

We're all sick again. This time it's something really nasty. It makes our throats feel like we swallowed razor blades and ears feel like they may explode at any given second!

Last night Noah was awake until 1am and then up again at 5am. Aus had a fever and was sweating and throwing off his blankets in the freezing cold (very stressful when all you want to do is cover him up!)

And I had to work today.

It's so much harder by myself and even though Hubby sends comforting messages and calls as often as he can, I'm still doing it on my own.

And something I hadn't counted on was how scary it is when you have sick kids and no one there to ask 'what do you think we should do with him?'. You have to make the decision and hope your educated guess was not totally wrong!

So far tonight they're both asleep peacefully and I'll soon follow them... right after I spend 3 hours putting another jewellery tree together!

And I have to work tomorrow... why do I do this to myself?! :)
