A hush falls over the crowd as the envelope is opened...

And the winner is....

bellaandmolly!!

For making my husband giggle like a little girl with this comment:

"A guy walks into his psychiatrist's office wearing nothing but plastic wrap. The shrink says, "clearly, I can see your nuts."

I am just nuts about this ring and would proudly wear it."

Yes my husband is in fact a 5yr old trapped in a man's body :)
Well done to bellaandmolly! I will need some details from you to make your ring so please contact me :)
But honorable mentions go to-

Rachel for this comment using poetic skills:

Just noticing how
Exceptionally sweet &
Romantic your love for
Each other is. In
My humble opinion,
Your husband is a lucky guy!

and Jennifer who took the art of sucking up to a new level! :

Wow, you must have the most incredibly HANDSOME, COMPASSIONATE, HARD WORKING, SELFLESS, STRONG, SMART and FUNNY husband that ever walked the Earth. How WONDERFUL he must be for you to be able to create such incredibly beautiful jewelry. He must be your inspiration. You should definitely worship the ground he walks on for giving you such joy that reflects in you work...LOL!!! How was that? Pick me, pick me!!!

And lastly Corak the Mysterious who appealed on the very basic level of 'man to man':

My wife raves about the jewelry posted on this blog, so when she mentioned the ring giveaway I felt I had to appeal to male camaraderie and hope you choose my post as the winner and help make me popular tonight.

Great comments guys, I've decided you need to get something for your efforts.
How's 30% off any 1 item in the Missie Krissie shop sound? To be redeemed whenever you wish, if there's nothing you like now, save it for later!

Thanks to everyone who entered, I had fun reading comments and had a few little giggles to myself! Please keep an eye out for the next giveaway!

Here's how it will work...

Once you've blogged about it, you have entered for the duration of the giveaway, meaning you have a chance to win something every day from Sunday until and including Christmas day. So people who enter earlier have more chance of winning something! Yay for the early birds!
I'll draw a winner each day at about 9pm EST each day... once kids are in bed.

So lets see what's up for grabs!

Sunday's prize:

rose quarts pendant

A pendant with a rose quartz cabochon

I'm back... finally... and with goodies

Ok perhaps that was a little bit longer of a bloggy break than I had anticipated. Sorry, life has just been so sweet the last 2 weeks I couldn't bare to leave it for a second.

My host parents from Denmark couldn't have been more lovely and were just as I remembered them. Putting them on the train on the last day was very hard and I might have let a tear or 2 escape :( Aus made it a bit harder because he seemed to be of the opinion that we would be picking them up again few days later and taking them home to live with us again. It was hard to explain that it will be a while before he sees them again. But on the up side we are planning our trip to Denmark for the end of next year or the beginning of 2011. I am so excited and can't wait to go back and check out my old stomping grounds! (pfff! lol)

I've also been playing in my little studio and am now teaching myself Silver Smithing, with the help of a few books and lots of trial and error. I have quite a few practice pieces I've made so far and I was thinking perhaps a give away or 5 would be in order? I only need the pieces for a photo really and then they just lay around, why not share the love? So from Monday next week I will give something away every day until and including Christmas day.

That should stave off the 3 ghosts of Christmas, don't you think?

I am super organised this year and as of today have no more presents to journey after. I hate the last minute rush where people seem to lose all dignity and run around like headless chooks trying to find something that suits this person or that person. I think long and hard on what someone needs or would be pleased to receive, then I shop on the net or make it myself. Etsy loves me this year!
I did make the mistake of telling Hubby to get me something thoughtful this year and left it to him to decide what that should be. He's come begging 3 times already for me to just tell him what I want. It's going to be very interesting to see what I open of Christmas morning this year ;P

As for the kids, Aus has been very good- it seems that mentioning the fact that Santa bring presents to good children does a very nice job of curbing bad behavior. I wonder if I can use it all year? He's so excited though and randomly tells strangers in the supermarket that Santa might bring him presents soon. You have to smile and wish you were young enough to still believe that some big fat bloke would creep into your house and leave presents for you. ;P
Noah has no idea what is going on yet and just enjoys his Jolly Jumper. And lately chewing on rusks, now and again choking a bit, blinking and then continuing to chew. He's still the happiest child I know and gives me bright smiles every morning from his cot. All you have to do is look at him to get a smile and not much more for a giggle. His favorite person is his big brother, who gets giggles almost all the time.
We did have 1 day where Austin was intentionally hurting Noah, dropping books and toys on him just to see what he would do. I took him aside and we had a conversion about how little Noah is and how big brothers have to protect and look after baby brothers. The next day he wanted his seat pushed over next to Noah's in the car. I looked in the rear view mirror and noticed that he was holding Noah's hand and smiling. He saw me and said 'Mum, Austin gotta look after Baby Brother, he's very little!'. Awe, it so good to know that at least the most important things I tell him are being take in :)

Anyway, soon I'll put up some pics of what will be on offer for this big giveaway, it's worth a fair bit so make sure you get in on the action!

A little competition...

Photo from kathrynivy.com flickr

I'm not a knitter. Several times over the years I've bought yarn/wool to have a go at something and it never eventuates. So I have a HUGE pile of all different types of wool that will never become anything while it lives with me. It all needs a good home with someone who will lovingly use it to create something fabulous.
Are you that someone? You could be.
How?
Easy peasy. All you need to do is guess which name we've picked out for the new bub. Leave a comment on this post with the name and once he's finally out (sorry I can't give you a precise date) there may be a big box of wool/yarn on its way to your house.
Good luck everyone!
(If 2 or more people guess the right name it will be the person who guessed it first, so get in quick!)
(hint, the post below may be of some help)

Thank you all!

For all the lovely messages, the good news is Aus has been checked out and he is fine- a few bruises and a bump. I am just so glad he's ok. And that I didn't go into labor in shock. I just keep seeing him laying on the floor with smashed stuff all around him screaming. I hope I never ever have to see it again... truely a mother's worst nightmare.
It turned out that the day didn't get much better. They say bad things in threes don't they?! Well I had to go and do my glucose blood test yesterday as well (which pretty much scares the crap out of me anyway) and I had to go and get my form to be sent with the blood. I was in a hurry and didn't really look where I was going and *SPLAT*. Fell down the steps onto my hands and knees. No damage, just hurt my pride. I got up rather sheepishly and slunk off to the car.
Later I found out that my Mum is sick and had to be taken to Bendigo to be admitted. So we ended up dashing to Bendigo and staying the night at my sister's house. My Mum is ok now but it's been so stressful. Hopefully she can come home tomorrow.
Really couldn't all this have happened at a time when I was not less than 6 weeks away from giving birth?! *Grrrr!* My head is still spinning from everything yesterday.
Oh well, today has been a better day, I got to go to some good Op Shops while waiting to go and see Mum. A few bargains made their way into our car for the trip home :) Shopping always makes me feel less stressed!! Thanks again for all the lovely comments of support. Tomorrow I'll post something more cheerful I promise.
Don't forget to get in on the action for the giveaway- so far only 2 people have entered!

Who said: Oh my gosh...love them. How did you dome it? I love the colors you choose. I hope I win, that would make my Friday. I am sooooo glad the nag board has worked for you. I hope it saves many-a-fights like ours has. Thanks for telling me about it. That pumps me up.

Time for a Giveaway!

I meant to blog about this on Friday but instead we went to watch Geelong beat the Hawks at the MCG. It was very satisfying :)

So here it is, another new design to give away to some lucky winner. It's all sterling and can have anything you like stamped on it. Also the colours of crystals or pearls are up to you. The necklace will be the same chain as the dangle.
How to win? Just leave a comment on this post. Tell me what you think of the new design and any ideas you may have for new designs in the future. I'll be drawing a winner on Friday night.

I was going to give away a stamped ring as well but when I received them from the supplier they were horrible quality. I refuse to sell or even give away jewellery of a lesser standard than a normal jeweller. So I'm on the hunt for new rings.

So this is what we did on the weekend:

Some herbs I got a few weeks ago needed new pots and some little fingers helped me do it. Well, he did one and then lost interest. But was happy to water them all after for me :)

Later this is all that was happening on a Sunday afternoon:

Hope you had a nice lazy one too!
