That sinking feeling...

Today has start off in a horrible way.
Aus was in our bed this morning and wet his pants- so I stripped the bed and was putting everything in the washing machine then I heard the loudest crash. It sounded like it went on forever. I knew it was Aus and I started running even before I heard him scream. I came around the kitchen corner and there was my child laying on the floor with our huge tv on top of him. The tv is bigger than he is. One of his legs was stuck and I lifted the tv with one hand while pulling him out with the other. (To give you some idea- I tried shifting that tv the other day and couldn't even lift one side with all my strength). But all I could think about was getting my baby out. I could see a huge bruise already starting to form on his shin where it had been stuck and had a sick feeling that his leg was broken.
He was still screaming but somehow I could tell it wasn't really from pain but more the shock. We cuddled and cried together on the couch for about 10 mins. Tried to ring Daddy to come and take care of us but he couldn't find his phone this morning and was unreachable. So eventually we pulled ourselves together and got some breakfast, which chirped us up a bit.
He's fine now and I've been keeping a close eye on him. He keeps saying 'sorry Mummy- Austin broke it'. And I nearly burst into tears again. I could have lost my child this morning, I am so sure that tv is heavy enough to have seriously hurt him. Thank god it wasn't that bad.
Phew, talk about shaken up!!

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear about that. It sounds awful. I don't have a child but I do have a dog who I am phenomenally attached to, and he got attacked one day while I was home alone. I was so shaken up I couldn't stand. I wish I were there to give you a big hug and make some tea for you both. I'm so glad you're both ok. Lots of love to you. xxx

So sorry to hear about that.Maybe you should have his little leg checked tomorrow just in case some other damage has occurred. It is better to know than to wonder in his later years. You were so lucky. Poor Aus!

OMG this could have totally happened to us!! I am always telling wyatt to stop touching the tv!! It one of my biggest fears!! I hope your little man is recovering and that you have settled down form the shock of it all. You should definitely get him checked over by a doc tomorrow just to be sure.

Ohh poor little man. Accidents happen but they scare the life out of you when they do. Hope the two of you are ok and spending some quality and very calming time together.
